Where Does Kean Stand On Social Security?

DBK from Blanton's and Ashton's called up the Kean Jr. campaign headquarters to see where the candidate stood on social security privitization. Kean, like many wise Republicans, has yet to say where he stands on the issue.

He claimed on WHYY today that he "opposes privatization" and that he opposes Bush's plan. When asked about how, just four years ago, he favored the president's privatization scheme, his response was that "that plan is no longer on the table".

He never said what changed, but we know what changed. My take is that he still believes in privatization, but that the political winds make that bad for him to say when he is running for Senate. He'll say anything to get elected. There's no spine there.
